During the race, I had a pretty good idea that I will see a few good pictures of me because I was in the pack with the Roller Montreal guys and they had a dedicated photographer NL. Here are a couple that I'm particularly fond of:
This was taken early in the race when the pack was a bit bigger. I was determined to stay with JSB because I remember him from the Montreal Marathon earlier this year and how nice it was to skate behind him. Haahaa, I looked like I mean business! (Photo by Nathalie Larouche)
This was taken a little later in the race I guess and the pack was once again pulled by RM, very very strong skater. He was doing some coaching and basically skated circles around the pack. I was glad that I was able to skate with the big boys. Hey, I belong! (photo by Nathalie Larouche)
Podium shot for advanced women 42k! Everyone was soaking wet from standing in the rain but I was only too happy to be there when my name was called. (photo by Peter Doucet)I'll be offline in the next day because I'll be traveling to Hong Kong. Hopefully I'll get to visit the speed skating club in Hong Kong and chat with their members. Lots of travel pictures from NYC posted on my flickr account though I haven't really sorted them out. Check them out and you may begin to understand my dilemma for "eating for fuel" during racing season...
Congrats and keep training. I have been following your travels on and off for a while now. Sounds like all the work paid off for one day. that's sort of why we do this isn't it? Or is it the day to day training? I really don't know but have fun in Hong Kong and i enjoy your pictures from around the world and US. =b
